With over thirty years of experience, passion, and unwavering dedication, Yury Bettoni founded The Alessandra Bettoni Foundation—a philanthropic initiative rooted in purpose and powered by a unique ecosystem of sport, innovation, and design. At the heart of this model is the Y-System, a revolutionary visual tennis and training method that enhances biomechanics and cognitive performance, alongside GoSymba, a socially driven streetwear line. These ventures work in tandem to generate revenue that directly supports the Foundation’s mission.

By transforming his professional tennis expertise into impactful tools, Yury has built a sustainable platform that funds critical initiatives for underserved youth in Ethiopia and Tanzania—providing access to education, healthcare, and essential needs. This purpose-driven approach empowers not only athletes and creatives but entire communities across Africa, showing that when sport, style, and service work in harmony, real change happens.

Yury was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to mother Alessandra and father Amerigo—both born in Eritrea to Italian immigrant parents who made a meaningful impact on local communities by developing infrastructure projects that improved daily life. Inspired by their legacy, Yury felt a deep calling to create lasting change of his own. Due to his father's work, he lived in several African countries, but it was in Tanzania where the most formative chapter of his youth unfolded—shaped profoundly by the warmth, generosity, and resilience of the people around him.

Growing up alongside locals and sharing everyday life, Yury was deeply touched by their simplicity and altruism. The sincere smiles and open hearts he encountered shaped moments he continues to cherish. Influenced by both his African roots and the extensive charitable work of his parents, Yury—now a Knight of Malta—set out to build an ecosystem that honors and continues his family’s legacy.

“Africa touches humans in a different way. It teaches the real, basic values of life. I was very lucky to have been born in such a beautiful land, full of positive energy, and blessed to experience, learn, and build a strong but simple character from a young age. Happiness comes from within, not from material things. If I had the chance to go back in time? I would absolutely not change a thing about the early years of my life.”
